MONASTERIES OF MOLDOVA
The monasteries Condritsa and Hincu are the unique monuments of the national architecture, church buildings in the rocks, theological seminary. “Saharna” is famous for its monastery (graven in rock) of XIII century. You can get acquainted with life in still actioning male monastery of Saint Trinity. You can visit more than 30 monasteries located mostly in the forest Kodri or along the rivers Dnestr and Reut. The first texts and mentioning of the monasteries can be found in the documents of XV century. In the medieval period monasteries served as centers of opposition against the multiple invaders. A lot of beautiful legends are connected with them. Every monastery is unique and beautiful in its own way not depending of its location: in Orheiul Vechi, Tsipova, Saharna, Bursuc (Hincu), Japca, Cosauts, Hirjauca.
